Its was a wonderful experience to cover a wonderful colourful Masaai wedding in Kilgoris. Today we will share with you Carol & Felix’s wedding ceremony. The first thing that fascinated me about this wedding when we go to the brides place was the preparation of the food. It was meant for the breakfast!
First it was this goat.
and then more goats followed
and then this cow
then more cows waited for their turn
ooh and the chapatis too in plenty plus Kachumbari…….. AND THIS WAS JUST BREAKFAST!
Back in the house the ladies ere preparing themselves
We meet Carol as she prepares herself for her big day.
Felix also made sure he was at his best
The Masaai attire never goes out of fashion i must say
So they were ready and as tradition dictates Felix has to pick his bride from her home and before they go a word of advice…
The girls were obviously ready to go.
Finally it was time to go
Carol was given a white carpet treatment….
The colourful Masaai attires blended so well with the natural background
Guests were waiting for them patiently
Carol was escorted down the aisle by her parents
Felix couldn’t wait as he watched Carol his wife to be walk towards him…
and the adorable flower girls did a wonderful job in carrying the train.
not even the rains would stop him from searching for his missing rib
he finally found her
I didn’t realise unveiling a bride could be this funny…
They exchanged their rings
Their union was blessed
It was also proved on paper and Carol kept it close to his heart
Felix had to confirm the cert was there…just in case
A masaai wedding is incomplete without this jump
as he entertained them
It was now official the two families merged and became one
It was time to adorn the beautiful bride with the masaai ornaments
and the results BEAUTIFUL!
The cake was unique
Guest took time in congratulation them in writing
They chose a sunset photo session which was a great idea
